WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2010:
Greetings, once again from our family to yours. With summer slipping away quickly, we're looking forward to some cooler, crisper days and the apple harvest. At this time, our crop looks very good, and barring any hail or wind storms, we expect to have a good supply of all your favorite varieties.
Although the season is a little earlier this year, we will follow our usual schedule with our farm market opening on Sept. 1, and remain open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the months of September and October. Our first offering of apples wil be Early Gold, Paula Red and Wealthy with McIntosh and Cortland to follow shortly.
We will be offering the full fare of our farm market with jams, jellies, honey, syrup, spices, caramel apples and those delicious Apple Cider Donuts. Fresh pressed apple cider will be available about mid-September when we have a good blend of apples to make tastey cider. Until then, we will be selling frozen cider from last year's crop - the same cider that won 1st prize at the state cider contest last January.
We look forward to seeing our old friends again, meeting new ones and welcome any comments that you may have. Please check this page of the website regularly for up to date information about the apple crop and fun things at Heritage Orchard!
